I hate the outside sleeping bag zipper, I really had to push and pull to get a sleeping bag inside a full pack, I usually just top load the bag(and I use a down bag which compresses pretty small!) I have found that it is a good bag for weekend use, although I have used it on a few 4 and 5 day treks
